Write with the flow

Some days are for writing. And some are not. No matter how much you are willing, some days, the words just don’t come; the ideas don’t converge – you just can’t tap into that Creative Spirit, no matter how much you try. This used to frustrate me, I got really down and disheartened and my mood would turn sour. But now – now I have learnt to go with the flow: Use the energy when it is there; get as much done as possible when you feel energised and ‘up’, go with it and get it out. And on the days when nothing’s working… accept it. Give a shrug, recognise that today is a ‘down’ day, and give yourself a break. Relax, do something passive, stop striving – because there will be another up day. It’s not the end of the world. Your mind, body, or soul just needs to recharge – so let it, and don’t let the ‘not doing’ mood spoil your day. Go with the flow.

Life works a lot better when you start recognising these ‘energy waves’ in yourself – personally, I’m a lot less stressed, and my energy is higher on the good days, because I have rested on the down days. We are always so busy these days, feeling that we have got to do everything now, that we don’t listen to ourselves and give our bodies and minds the break they need. But when we do – when we do tune into ourselves and use the energy  that’s within us properly – then it creates a better, happier, more productive ‘Me’.
